Typographic Posters

For this assignment, we had to create typographic posters, with each one being created with a different method (Illustrator, Photoshop, handmade, etc.). Each poster also fell into a different category, everyday, political, and known/unknown.

For this poster, the category was known/unknown, and within that, I chose to focus on my favorite conspiracy theory, the Mandela Effect. A well-known Mandela Effect is about the children’s book, The Berenstain Bears, which many people including myself remember to be The Berenstein Bears. I made this poster in Illustrator, and used the Blend tool to subtly change the word Berenstein to Berenstain.

For this poster, the category was Political, and within that, I chose to focus on the quote from the famous Graphic Designer, Alan Fletcher. The quote is “We don’t think in words”, which I think is a very good representation of what graphic design is. I made this poster by first hand lettering the words. I did this by taking 5 pencils and using them at the same time to write the words, and then image tracing that in illustrator.

For this poster, the category was Everyday, and within that, I chose to focus on the stupidest thing I have overheard, which happened to be “That tower just gave birth and I was the doctor”, which I heard while playing Jenga. I chose to make this poster by laying out each of the letters in Jenga pieces, then photographing them and putting them into Illustrator, where I arranged the words.
